Sanchita was born in Kolkata, West Bengal. She did her B.Sc (Chemistry) from Jadavpur University (Kolkata) and Masters (Chemistry) from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. Subsequently, she joined the research group of Prof. Dr. Frank Würthner (Organic Materials and Nanosystems Chemistry Group, University of Wuerzburg, Germany) where she obtained her Ph.D in 2011. Her doctoral research was focused on synthetic modifications of Chlorophylls, studies on their self-assembly and charge transport properties. Followed by two brief postdoctoral stays at Uni-Wuerzburg (2011-2012) and at Department of Chemical Engineering, Technical University of Delft, The  Netherlands (2012-2013), she joined IISc Bangalore as DST-INSPIRE Faculty in Aug 2013. Her current research interests include organic dye chemistry, synthesis and application of organic materials in organic photovoltaics and electronics.
